ไต้หวันพบติดเชื้อ “โอมิครอน” รายแรก บินมาจากเอสวาตีนี-สั่งกักผู้โดยสารใกล้ชิด

ไต้หวันพบติดเชื้อ “โอมิครอน” – รอยเตอร์ รายงานวันที่ 11 ธ.ค. ว่า ศูนย์บัญชาการโรคระบาดส่วนกลาง (ซีอีซีซี) ของ ไต้หวัน แถลงว่าพบผู้ป่วยโรคโควิด-19 สายพันธุ์โอมิครอน เป็นรายแรก โดยผู้ติดเชื้อซึ่งไม่แสดงอาการเดินทางมาจาก เอสวาตีนี ประเทศในแถบแอฟริกาใต้ และอยู่ระหว่างแยกกักตัว

ขณะเดียวกันบุคคลที่มีความเสี่ยงจำนวน 10 คน เป็นผู้โดยสารซึ่งมีที่นั่งรอบผู้ติดเชื้อบนเที่ยวบินเดียวกัน ได้รับแจ้งให้แยกกักตัวที่บ้านพักเพื่อรอดูอาการ แม้เบื้องต้นผลตรวจหาเชื้อของบุคคลเสี่ยงทั้งสิบคนไม่ปรากฏว่าติดเชื้อโควิด-19 ก็ตาม

ขณะที่สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของสายพันธุ์โอมิครอนพบผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการยืนยันแล้วอย่างน้อย 1,560 คน ใน 66 ประเทศและเขตการปกครอง อย่างไรก็ตาม จำนวนผู้ป่วยจริงอาจสูงถึง 3,315 คน ต้องสงสัยว่าติดเชื้อและอยู่ระหว่างยืนยันผลตรวจมากกว่า 1,000 คน
