ตำรวจรวบแก๊ง – สกายนิวส์ รายงานวันที่ 23 มี.ค. ว่า ตำรวจรัฐควีนส์แลนด์ ทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของ ออสเตรเลีย เปิดเผยหลังปฏิบัติการจับกุมขบวนการค้ายาเสพติดกลุ่ม “แบล็กไฟลต์” ที่สนามบินในเมืองมอนโต รัฐควีนส์แลนด์ เมื่อวันอังคารที่ 21 มี.ค.ที่ผ่านมา

โดยจับกุมผู้ต้องสงสัยทั้งหมด 5 คน รวมถึงนักบินและผู้ช่วยนักบิน พร้อมยึดของกลางเป็นเมทแอมเฟตามีนหรือยาไอซ์ซุกซ่อนในกระเป๋า 5 ใบ น้ำหนักรวม 52 กิโลกรัม และมีมูลค่าราว 15 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือกว่า 511 ล้านบาท

เจ้าหน้าที่ระบุอีกว่ากลุ่มผู้ต้องสงสัยจากรัฐนิวเซาท์เวลส์ใช้เครื่องบินเล็กรุ่นบีชคราฟต์เดินทางจากเมืองวิลตันไปเมืองมอนโตและต่อไปยังเมืองบูโลโล ประเทศปาปัวนิวกินี เพื่อรับกระเป๋าบรรจุยาไอซ์ จากนั้นบินกลับมาเติมน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงที่เมืองมอนโต โดยปิดอุปกรณ์เรดาร์ของเครื่องเพื่อหลบเลี่ยงเจ้าหน้าที่ แต่สุดท้ายก็ถูกจับกุม
